OppiKoppi Competition
Congrats to Darryn Lee who won 4 tickets to Oppikoppi in our July Competition. Read below about all the fun he had thanks to Student Flights!
After the great news of winning the tickets I rallied up the troops who I thought would outwit, outlast and outplay... Sergio, Laura and Justin ticked all the boxes.
We headed out early Saturday morning, survived roadblock after roadblock and a R750 speeding fine to arrive at the gates and start the festivities. It took more than 45 minutes to find a suitable camp site to call home for the weekend. Boom Straat it was complete with en suite toilet to the fence at the back of the property :)
After pitching the tents and stocking the bar we commenced our OppiKoppi experience with a few drinking games before heading out to the madness of GoodLuck, Jax Panick and in the early hours the INCREDIBLE Red Bull Electronic LED stage, which had the most insane show of lights and visuals we had ever seen!
Finally heading back to Boom straat to find our tents and finish the night off with a camp fire and Old Brown Sherry. At this point the temperature had plummeted to around -10 degrees (Yes it felt that cold even with 6 layers, a booze jacket AND a camp fire!)
Bed at 4, up at 9 we washed our faces and made the trek back to the madness for a few Beer shandy's, the Black Hotels and some great stir-fry and chip and dip!
After two days of sun and a night of sub zero temps it was time to head back to reality. It was a great experience and one which im sure is the start of many to Oppi Koppi!
