When to Go and Weather
While London may be known for its amazing attractions, it is also known for its decidedly dreary weather. If you are planning your trip during the fall or winter months (late September to early March) pack warmer clothing and be sure to have some water resistant footwear and an umbrella handy for those rainy days. Get in from the cold with a trip to the historic St. Pauls Cathedral. Climb to the top of the cathedral dome to the Whispering Gallery, take a tour of the crypt or enjoy panoramic views of the city from the Golden Gallery. If you catch some clear skies, take a walk through the always bright and buzzing Piccadilly Circus or head to Trafalgar Square with its beautiful fountains and statues and check out the National Gallery. During the summer, take a ride on the London Eye or stop in for a bite at one of the many eateries at Covent Garden where tables spill out onto the piazza and street performers work their magic for passers-by.

Getting around London is made easy for visitors thanks to their amazing underground system better known as the ‘the Tube’. With over 12 Tube lines interconnecting Greater London, you can check out Trafalgar Square at the Charing Cross station and then stroll through Hyde Park in Kensington without missing a beat. If you don’t want to miss any of the great sights, than one of the city’s famous red double decker busses is an inexpensive and convenient way to move about town and get a view. And, with many bus routes now offering 24 hour routes, London is more accessible no matter what the time. There are also plenty of taxis, a light rail system for travellers planning on venturing farther out of the city, and trams in South London near Wimbledon, Croydon and Beckenham.

From casual fare to a five star culinary experience, London has an astounding array of options to suite any palette. Covent Gardens is a great place to grab a bite on the go and enjoy outside dining. For those on a budget check out Courtroom 1 Brasserie or Covent Garden Grill for some affordable and tasty eats. If you want to head out for a big evening out then take it up 10 floors to the rooftop patio of Radio Lounge. As one of London’s hottest clubs, you can party the night away here after a nice meal. Wanting to splurge? Than look no further than Jamie Oliver’s signature restaurant Barbecoa. With stunning views over St. Pauls Cathedral and an excellent menu, this is a once in a lifetime dining experience. For another great high end restaurant, check out the Duck and Waffle on Bishopsgate. Serving traditional British fare, this is a local favourite. If you want the quintessentially British experience, than relax with a nice cup of English Breakfast and a scone at High Tea of Highgate or Bond & Brook on New Bond Street.
