Adventure tours

Many years ago when I was still in my own youth the most adventuresome adventure tours that I could find was to hitchhike around France and Germany by myself with a tent and sleeping bag on my back. Those days were relatively close to the end of WWII and many of my peers thought that I was mad to undertake such a trip. But adventure tours then were not anything like what they are today. I mean, did you know that you could book a flight in a Mig 31 to the very edge of Space? Such a trip has only been possible since the fall of Communism and the pulling down of the Iron Curtain.

Adventure tours today leave you with almost limitless possibilities – indeed the only restriction is the cost, and if you can pay for it, you can take a trip into Space. Adventure tours gains much of their excitement by allowing the participants to step outside of their comfort zone. One way of doing this is by allowing them to experience culture shock, another is by getting them to perform various acts that require significant effort and involve some degree of risk, either real or perceived and/or physical danger. This may include activities such as mountaineering, trekking, bungee jumping, mountain biking, rafting, zip lining and rock climbing. The culture shock experience is carried out by taking you to some little-known culture – maybe a trip to Katmandu or into the Amazonian rain forest. • Applies to genuine quotes in South African Rand from airlines and South African registered businesses and websites for travel that originates/departs from South Africa.
• Detailed quote must be in writing, must be inclusive of all fees such as taxes, surcharges and service fees and must be presented to us prior to booking.
• Fare must be available and able to be booked by the general public when you bring it to us.
• Fares available due to membership of a group or corporate entity or subscription to a closed group are excluded.
• We may offer you an alternative date/airline to get you the best price, but should you be less flexible we guarantee to better whatever you bring us – apples for apples.
• We will better the price by R20 on domestic airfares and R50 on international airfares.
