With literally thousands of destinations to choose from, and hundreds of adventure activities to include, today’s youth has never had a better or wider choice of destinations or activities. Backpacking is the new way of travelling and of taking tours to new and far-off places. Backpacking has become an acceptable way of travelling today, and there is little doubt that it is one of the better ways of meeting people of another culture. However, here are a couple of tips for anyone undertaking backpacking tours. Learn a little about the country of your destination before you leave home – their laws or customs may be very different from what you are used to. It is always wise to be covered by some degree of travel insurance – this is especially so when you intend to include a little adventure such as bungee jumping, rock climbing or white water rafting. Keep your passport and valuables in a waterproof bag in a pouch around your neck or elsewhere out of sight. Be warned - if you are a woman, you might find yourself the subject of unwanted attention in many destinations. Be aware of this and maybe carry an old cell phone on backpacking tours to pretend to phone a friend, or better still, don’t backpack alone.

• Applies to genuine quotes in South African Rand from airlines and South African registered businesses and websites for travel that originates/departs from South Africa.
• Detailed quote must be in writing, must be inclusive of all fees such as taxes, surcharges and service fees and must be presented to us prior to booking.
• Fare must be available and able to be booked by the general public when you bring it to us.
• Fares available due to membership of a group or corporate entity or subscription to a closed group are excluded.
• We may offer you an alternative date/airline to get you the best price, but should you be less flexible we guarantee to better whatever you bring us – apples for apples.
• We will better the price by R20 on domestic airfares and R50 on international airfares.
