What is WorldSIM?
- Roaming is a feature that allows mobile users to use their mobile phone outside their home country.
- Normally when a mobile user travels to another country, the voice, data, and SMS services are operated by a foreign network.
- For providing this service, the foreign network operator charges your home operator & your home operator passes this additional cost on to you including costs to receive calls on your mobile abroad andincreased costs to make calls and send SMSs
- For example, an Vodacom customer visiting UK would pay R 5.70 /min to receive a call in UK and pay AED 23.50/min to make a call back to SA

How do I make a call?
- WorldSIM works just like a normal SIM card with one small difference when making a call. WorldSIM uses call-back technology to ensure customers get the lowest rates
- Dial the number including the full international dialling code i.e. +447624139363. ALWAYS DIAL with ‘+’ and NOT ‘00’
- Customers will see a "Please Wait" message. The phone will then disconnect. Different phones will display varied messages. Some may even say “call failed”, “call rejected”, or “sending a request”
- Within a few seconds customers will receive a ‘call-back' & their phone will ring
- When the call is answered they will hear a message saying your call is being connected. Customers will be connected to the person they are calling
- Receiving a call is as you would normally receive on any other mobile
Will WorldSIM work on any mobile?
- WorldSIM works on 85% of all UNLOCKED mobile phones. A list of known incompatible handsets is given in Appendix 1
- Customers don’t need to change their existing number - they can simply forward their existing number to their WorldSIM number when travelling if their operator will allow this. If not they can leave a voicemail with their WorldSIM number
- What if customers do not receive a call-back?
- If you don’t receive a call back, this may mean that your handset isn’t compatible for using the normal dialling method. However, you can still use it to make calls using WorldSIM. Instead of dialling your number as normal, you simply have to save or enter the number prefixed with
*125*1*countrycode&number#
- Receiving calls anywhere in the world and sending text messages remains exactly the same
Does WorldSIM calling credit expire?
- Any unused credit will not expire as long as a customer’s sim is active. This includes any free starter credit that comes with the WorldSIM
- When a customer inserts a WorldSIM into their phone, the sim card is activated for a year. To extend the validity of a SIM card beyond a year, there is a USD 20 annual network fee
How can WorldSIM be topped up?
- Top Ups can be done 24/7/365 from anywhere in the world. There are currently 4 ways a customer can top-up
- Buy top-up vouchers in South Africa
- Top-up online at www.worldsim.com
- Top-up over the phone by dialing 154 from your WorldSIM or by dialing +442088192557
